Vitality’s Mid Tax: Default Ledger for Bomb Half-Beat and Connector Handoff

Vitality treats mid as a pre-payment on bomb rhythm—not a window-counting puzzle. Wide mid unlocks a second arc on the plant line; narrow mid still makes riflers pay contact before the carrier commits. Track half-beat gaps in your notes, not frag diffs.

First contact: wide space is not deep push

On default rounds Vitality usually posts two players wide mid for information, not one deep probe. Deep mid binds the bomb carrier early into a “must follow molly” chain; a wide screen splits connector, T mouth, and second-floor reads into swappable modules. If first contact only buys T-mouth activity, connector rights stay unresolved—the carrier typically sits second or third in line and will not burn a flash just to fix first-contact spacing.

Log three questions on your scrim sheet: who pays the first smoke cooldown, who keeps the anti-clear angle, and whether the carrier may step half a beat forward before mid fights. Vitality’s bias is no carrier step pre-fight: plant-line value beats mid K/D unless mid is lost hard enough to flip the round default.

Bomb half-beat: second owner and connector transfer

The half-beat after mid control is where Vitality diverges from many elite teams. Plenty of squads rush the bomb into the site prop lane after winning mid; Vitality more often holds one extra beat of one-way connector priority—not to stall, but to make CTs misread recycle order. In that half-beat the carrier does two things: hug a retreat wall and layer footsteps from second floor vs connector; riflers rotate to the next contact surface so the bomb is not the anchor for the next nade.

Rough rotation window: if the mid controller wins the anti-clear, bomb rights drift connector-side; if mid is mutual stare, rights recycle to the rear of T mouth and the secondary carrier (often the second entry) preps the handoff. Handoff triggers when mid tax is paid and connector price is tagged, not when someone dies. That is why ZywOo or mezii often skip instant site rushes after mid fights—the second plant arc needs mid cost written into CT defaults.

Lost mid and clutch: do not sell first contact for one pick

When mid collapses, Vitality rarely feeds the carrier for an opening duel. Re-anchor at T mouth, reroute the plant line through side halls or slow map control—rewrite wide mid tax as narrow flank tax. In clutches with the bomb on mid’s rear edge, default calls often have riflers sell connector vision while the carrier collects info without trading—Spirit’s A-second-lane logic rhymes, but Vitality’s edge is half-beat mobility after mid loss, not instant site timing gifts.

Mirror your own defaults without copying their IDs—copy the ledger: mid first-contact payer, bomb half-beat owner, connector handoff conditions, post-loss plant fork. Put those four rows in Week 39’s training block, then run five custom defaults. You will see faster how mid control drags bomb rhythm than chasing one highlight—that is the real difficulty of Vitality’s mid problem.
