Release Date

December 3, 2020 – mark this date if you're hunting for the Dark Web Switchboard. It arrived alongside the Control Collection during Operation Broken Fang, so you can easily pair it with other skins from the same collection.

Where to Get It

• The Control Collection

The Control Collection is your source. You can obtain it through collection drops, trade-ups, or directly from the market. When buying, double-check the listing to ensure it's from the Control Collection – don't accidentally buy a similar-looking skin from another collection.

Skin Details

• Weapon: Dual Berettas Switch Board
• Finish: Dark Web Switchboard / hy_numbers_green
• Rarity: Uncommon
• Collection: The Control Collection
• Technique: Hydrographic
• Wear Range: 0.0 – 0.65

The official description says it all: "The weapon features a colorful digital number pattern." How the numbers are arranged and whether they mirror across the barrels is best seen in-game. Hydrographic finishes wrap around curves, so the pattern shifts with the surface. As wear increases from 0.0 to 0.65, fading and scratches become more prominent. Always inspect in-game to see how the pattern holds up at your preferred wear level.

The flavor text is a cheeky one: "Numbers don't lie, but I do." – perfect for players who enjoy a bit of wit with their weapons.

What to Look For

When inspecting, focus on two things: the placement and completeness of the digital pattern, and how wear affects it. Lower wear looks cleaner; higher wear shows more battle scars. Since pistols see frequent use, they tend to show wear quickly. Compare prices on C5GAME and Steam Market for the same wear tier. As an uncommon skin, it's an affordable themed piece – great for filling the secondary slot in your Control Collection loadout.

Verdict

Should you buy it? If you're building a Control Collection set or just love techy, number-covered skins, the Dark Web Switchboard is a solid pick. Its uncommon rarity keeps it budget-friendly, and the unique pattern adds a cool factor. However, if you're looking for a flashy, high-tier skin, this might not be it. For a few dollars, it's a fun addition to your inventory.

Expert's Corner

"The Dark Web Switchboard is a classic example of a skin that doesn't try too hard. It's subtle, geeky, and perfect for players who appreciate the little details. The wear range is forgiving, so even a Well-Worn version can look decent. Just don't expect it to turn heads in a competitive match – it's more of a personal flair. And hey, the flavor text alone is worth the price of admission."
