Inspection: What You See

The System Lock features a futuristic design with geometric patterns and a cool blue-grey color scheme. In-game, the pattern placement is consistent, but the wear affects the overall cleanliness. At Factory New, the colors pop, but as wear increases, the paint chips away, especially around the edges and the stock. The sci-fi vibe remains, but the wear can make it look battle-scarred.

Wear & Pattern

• Factory New (0.00–0.07): Crisp lines, vibrant colors. Best for collectors.
• Minimal Wear (0.07–0.15): Slight scratches, still looks good.
• Field-Tested (0.15–0.38): Noticeable wear, colors dull.
• Well-Worn (0.38–0.45): Heavy scratching, design partially obscured.
• Battle-Scarred (0.45–0.80): Very worn, almost unrecognizable pattern.

Pattern variations are minimal; the design is fixed, so no special seeds to hunt.

Should You Buy It?

Verdict: Probably Not.

The M249 is a niche weapon, rarely used in competitive play due to its high cost and low efficiency. The System Lock skin is affordable, but demand is low, making it a tough resell. If you're a collector of Chroma skins or a fan of sci-fi aesthetics, a Factory New copy might be worth it for the novelty. For everyone else, your money is better spent on more popular skins.

Where to buy: Check C5GAME for listings. Prices are usually lower than Steam Community Market due to less demand.

Expert's Corner

"The M249 System Lock is like that cool-looking gadget you buy but never use. It's a great example of early CS:GO skin design, but the M249's unpopularity makes it a hard sell. If you do buy, go for Factory New to appreciate the details. Otherwise, skip it."
