Introduction
When the Dreams & Nightmares case dropped on 20 January 2022, the Mac-10 Prison (坐牢) joined the Nightmare collection as a Restricted finish. Workshop credit goes to b3d and Catmagen on the Mac-10 | Pixies entry—Valve’s same-day case blog is the clean paper trail from concept to live skin.
This isn’t a flat industrial wrap. Valve labels it custom hand-painted: blocks of color and brushwork carry the idea—pixies stuck inside the weapon, bodies twisted like they’re already climbing out. The flavor line lands the tone: they still haven’t found the one person they can’t fool—fantasy with a dry wink. In inspect, map which panels cage the figures and which way they’re straining; a quick flip in 3D reads “escape in progress” better than a static thumbnail.
Release & source
- Live: 2022-01-20, with Dreams & Nightmares
- Drop: Nightmares Weapon Case → Nightmare collection
- Rarity: Restricted, hand-painted tier within the set
Wear: don’t trust the icon
Float runs 0.00–0.90 (Factory New through Battle-Scarred). On C5GAME or Steam Community Market, step through wear tiers in 3D inspect—this skin lives or dies on paint retention.
- Low wear (FN / low MW): color layers stay readable; pixie silhouettes and framing stay intact—best if you want the full “can’t hold them” composition in one buy.
- Mid wear: paint chips unevenly; contrast jumps and the scene turns into a partial breakout—good meme energy without going full ghost.
- High wear / BS: large flakes gone; mostly high-contrast ghosts and a few line hints of the original art—only worth it if you like the halfway-escaped look on purpose.
Shop verdict
Worth it if you’re building Nightmare set color or you want a Restricted hand-painted with a clear story at a sane Restricted price—prioritize FN to light MW when budget allows so the pixies don’t disappear before you finish one match. Skip chasing perfect float unless you’re collecting; the joke is in the pose, not the decimal.
Budget play: open or buy from the Nightmares pool and treat it like any Restricted painted slot in the case—compare listings on C5GAME against Steam for the wear band you actually want. Flex play: mid–high wear for “jailbreak mid-animation” vibes.
Editor grumble: Thumbnails lie on hand-painted Restricteds every time. I still see people pay low-wear money for a MW that already ate the faces off the pixies—spin it in inspect, then decide. And yes, the flavor text is doing more work than half the knives in your loadout; that’s a feature, not a bug.
