Introduction
If you’re filling the close-range shotgun slot in a Genesis-themed loadout, Seismic (internal mag7_circle_copper) is one of the few Gunsmith MAG-7s in the set that actually reads clean in first person. Rare tier keeps the budget sane next to Covert flex pieces, while the finish still carries a clear story: energy rolling out from the bolt housing above the trigger.
Release snapshot
Seismic shipped 16 September 2025 with the Show Off update, inside the expanded Genesis Collection. Treat that date as your timeline anchor if you’re backfilling collection progress or timing case openings.
Who designed it
SayChains handled the art direction. The official hook is a shockwave bursting from the bolt above the trigger—not a sticker collage, but layered Gunsmith metal and wave geometry tuned for CS2’s 2.0 presentation at the end of the item blurb.
How to obtain
Same pipeline as the rest of Genesis: roll it from Sealed Genesis Terminal keys, or hunt listings tagged Genesis Collection. For MAG-7 completionists running terminal math, Seismic is the rare Gunsmith option on that weapon—not the flashiest slot, but the one that matches the collection’s industrial sci-fi tone.
What changes with wear
Float 0.0–1.0 is fully open, so Factory New and Battle-Scarred are both fair game—just don’t buy blind. Gunsmith skins live or die on lighting at wear boundaries. On Seismic, prioritize:
- Crisp shockwave rings around the bolt / receiver zone (the stated focal point)
- Copper tones staying readable vs turning muddy on high float
- Edge definition on the wave fronts when you spin the model in a community server
Shopping verdict
Worth picking up if you want a Genesis MAG-7 that communicates in one glance and doesn’t demand Covert money. Skip or downgrade float if the bolt-area wave looks washed out in inspect—That’s where the design pays rent.
Where to buy: Compare wear-specific listings on C5GAME and the Steam Community Market; match the in-game inspect you care about, not just the float number on the card.
Editor’s aside: I always queue a casual deathmatch after pulling a Gunsmith MAG-7. Third person lies; first-person reloads tell you whether that copper shockwave still pops under real lighting. Seismic is a “one screenshot” skin when the bolt zone is sharp—otherwise it’s just another orange shotgun.
