weapon | Dark Water sits in the rare tier of the eSports 2014 Summer collection and comes out of the eSports 2014 Summer Weapon Case. Under the hood the finish is am_zebra_dark, tagged as multi-color electroplating, with wear hard-capped from 0.10 to 0.26. That means you will not roll true Factory New or full Battle-Scarred extremes—the look clusters from light use through Field-Tested, so the zebra stripes and metal base usually stay readable instead of turning into random scuff noise.

Valve’s own breakdown is three layers: chrome on the outside, aquatic stripes pacing the pattern, and charcoal metallic coats with different reflectivity for light-to-dark transitions. In a proper 3D inspect, spin the rifle and watch how highlight bands bend around edges and how dark stripes cut across reflective planes—the sell here is clean metal depth, not loud color. The short flavor line (water carries the boat, and can capsize it) plays off those “aquatic” stripes and gives the 2014 summer theme a bit of story without shouting.

Released July 10, 2014 with the “Summer is heating up” update, same window as the summer case entering drops and unboxes. Designer: Valve.

Shopping checklist (C5GAME / Steam Market)

• Confirm float is inside 0.10–0.26 and matches the listing screenshot.
• Stripe continuity: mid-body “broken stripe” patterns show up in listings—decide if you care before you pay a premium.
• Chrome highlights: wear that dulls the chrome to flat gray kills the whole electroplated read.
• In-game lighting: hop maps with different light; multi-color plating shifts a lot with environment.

导购结论

Buy if you want a dark, metallic SSG that stays visually consistent within its float band and you are filling out eSports 2014 Summer sets. Skip or bargain-hunt if you need ultra-low float flex (this skin cannot go there) or you hate any stripe interruption on the receiver.

专家碎碎念

The float lock is secretly your friend: less “wrong tier” regret, more “pick the stripe layout you like.” I would not overpay for a 0.11 over a 0.24 if the pattern is cleaner on the cheaper one—on this finish, pattern beats one decimal on float. Always trust live inspect over a static thumbnail; electroplating lies beautifully in screenshots.
