Introduction
The USP-S | Kaiman (shown in-game as weapon | 凯门鳄) is one of those early Workshop skins that landed with the Huntsman Weapon Case on May 1, 2014, alongside The Hunt Begins update. Workshop credit goes to Zaphk (USP-S | KAIMAN). Rarity sits at Mythical inside the Huntsman Collection—not the flashiest tier in the case, but solid mid-upper positioning among the hunting and wildlife skins in the same drop pool.
What you're actually buying
This is custom hand-painted work: the silhouette is a caiman wrapped around the silenced USP, not neon gradients or sci-fi lines. That makes it easy to spot in a loadout and a natural fit if you're building a Huntsman set or just want a readable daily USP that doesn't need lore homework.
Wear range: 0.00–0.40. There is no Battle-Scarred. In practice you'll see Factory New, Minimal Wear, and Field-Tested most often. As float climbs, scale texture and outer edges soften, and the base tone drifts darker—the croc can look muddy instead of crisp.
Inspect before you pay
Open in-game inspect (or high-res screenshots) and check:
- Where the head and body sit on the slide and grip—personal taste matters; some floats hide the face in awkward spots.
- At FT (~0.25–0.38), whether scale lines still pop or already blur into a brown smear.
- Slide brightness vs your gloves/knife—Kaiman is earthy; it pairs well with neutral or olive themes.
On C5GAME or the Steam Community Market, sort by wear tier first, then compare floats within the same tier. Two MW listings can look like different skins depending on pattern wear concentration.
Shopping verdict
Worth it if you want a distinct, animal-themed USP from a classic 2014 case without chasing Covert prices. Low float (FN / clean MW) is the sweet spot for display and long-term hold; FT can work as a budget flex only if inspect proves the croc is still sharp.
Skip or wait if you're hunting max-profit flip only—mythical Huntsman pieces move on float and look, not hype cycles. Pass on listings with no inspect link when you're paying for pattern clarity.
Editor's nitpicks
Mythical means you're not paying Dragon Lore money, but you're also not getting a 3-cent filler—budget a minute to scroll three pages of the same wear tier on C5GAME; the best Kaimans are often one float point cheaper than the front-page listing. And remember: 0.40 cap sounds forgiving until you realize there's no BS discount tier—bad FT is just ugly FT. Treat 0.35+ as "prove it in inspect or don't buy."
