Introduction

Water Ripple ships with the Canal Heist collection—the same drop window as Shattered Web (2019-11-18). Valve’s in-house spray-paint read: cold blue body, short, punchy strokes that read clean from distance and carve the curves up close. The flavor line “people are made of water…” isn’t a postcard of the map; it’s motion suggested by how the lines run, not literal canal art.

What you’re buying

  • Finish: Water Ripple · Rarity: Common · Collection: Canal Heist
  • Wear band: 0.06 – 0.6 (Factory New floor at 0.06)
  • Drop: Canal Heist collection only—set-filler energy, not a hype-tier chase

Common means you’re paying for look and match, not flex. That’s fine if you want a coherent blue loadout without hunting covert scraps.

Inspect checklist

  1. Hold-side & profile — These are the faces you stare at in-game. Check whether the short lines finish cleanly at edges and corners; spray skins love to look full in screenshots then “break” in hand view.
  2. Line integrity — Near distance, the whole point is crisp segment boundaries on the blue blocks. If strokes blur into muddy patches, you’re fighting the design.
  3. Wear vs mood — Lower wear: more even blue, sharper line edges. Mid wear: grey/dark creep; strokes can snap off or melt into flat color. High end of the range is battle-scarred water, not crisp ripples.

Always trust in-game inspect over listing thumbnails. On C5GAME or Steam Community Market, pull a high-res inspect and match float to pattern before you commit.

Wear shopping guide

| Goal | Where to hunt |
|------|----------------|
| Clear “wet” blue, readable strokes | Low wear (toward 0.06–0.15) |
| Used, still on-theme | Mid wear with color left and lines still readable |
| Pure beaters | Upper wear—accept dead lines and grey wash |

No float cap below 0.06—don’t overpay for “perfect water” if the lines are already gone on that listing.

Loadout angle

Pairs naturally with other Canal / blue spray pieces: one dominant cool blue is enough to sell the Venice-water vibe without stacking expensive cores. Great daily driver and set completion slot.

Shop verdict

Buy if: You want a cheap, theme-solid blue with real spray character; you’re completing Canal Heist or building a cool-tone inventory.

Skip or bargain hard if: You need investment-grade rarity—this is common, not a portfolio piece. Also skip listings where hold-side lines are half missing unless the price reflects it.

Sweet spot: Low-to-mid float with intact strokes on the sides you actually see—that’s the whole skin.

Expert muttering

Spray commons live or die on whether the artist’s short strokes survived the UV wrap on YOUR roll. Two “same float” copies can look like different skins. I’d rather take a slightly higher float with clean breaks on the profile than a FN where the ripple died behind the grip. And remember: people are made of water—your wallet doesn’t have to evaporate on a common that’s meant to be worn, matched, and moved on when the next blue catches your eye.
