Introduction

Finish: Marble Fade (am_marble_fade, Catalog 413)
Applies to: all knife models
Rarity: Legendary
Method: multicolor electroplating
Wear: 0.00–0.08 (Factory New and near-mint territory only)

Black and silver metal reads like cold stone veining; the outer “candy shell” stacks three gradient passes so the edge flips hue when you roll the blade in inspect. Same finish name, different silhouette—marble flow and where the bands land shift with each knife shape, but the vibe stays crisp and industrial rather than loud graffiti.

The flavor line “刺刀见虹,刺刀见红” nods to that spine flash: you’re really buying where the rainbow kiss meets the steel you stare at in-game.

Release snapshot

Dropped 8 Jan 2015 with the Full Spectrum update—old enough that veteran traders still muscle-memory the fade family, but Marble Fade keeps its own lane thanks to the stone base plus triple band.

Valve-made, not workshop

Authored in-house by Valve, so band logic and plating depth follow official CS knife aesthetics, not a single community artist’s one-off palette.

What to check in inspect

  • Wear window is brutal: anything above ~0.08 doesn’t exist in normal drops—listings cluster at FN/low float, so tiny float gaps move price.
  • Two layers in one skin: (1) black/silver marble = texture and mood; (2) tri-color wrap = the screenshot flex. Don’t buy off a flat front photo.
  • Model matters: gut, bayonet, karambit, etc. redistribute marble coverage and band width—compare the same float idea across shapes if you care about “full marble” vs “fat red tip.”
  • Market hygiene: on C5GAME or Steam Community Market, always confirm in-game inspect; rotate for metal base vs highlight face.

Shop verdict

Worth it if you want a fade-class knife that feels stone-cool, not neon-cartoon, and you’ll spend time picking float/pattern. Skip or downgrade expectations if you need wide wear tiers (this finish won’t give you battle-scarred bargains) or you hate pattern lottery—pay for the band placement you’ll actually see.

Editor muttering

413 is the quiet flex finish: rules are in the official blurb (marble under, three-color coat over), but the ceiling lives in float decimals and inspect angle. I’d rather overpay slightly for a band that sits on my play-side than save $20 on a listing where the marble eats the spine. And no, “almost the same float” is not the same knife—at 0.00–0.08, the market agrees with you whether you like it or not.
