The Sawed-Off weapon | Sage finish is one of those Overpass staples that shows up constantly when you filter the collection by price. Consumer grade, spray-painted, float 0.06–0.80—nothing flashy, but that is exactly why it works as a budget piece for an Overpass color story.

What you are actually buying

Valve kept the finish description honest: hand-painted, short thick strokes, high-contrast color blocks—more street graffiti than layered texture work. Up close you get spray grain; from a distance you read it by big color zones. The flavor line “A handy weapon for active insurgents” fits the industrial, rebellious Overpass vibe in a showcase slot.

Wear and float: where the money goes

Because the art is simple, wear mostly fights over clean edges vs. worn scatter, not hidden pattern gems. Low wear keeps outlines sharper; high wear softens and “ ages ” the paint without changing the design language.

With a ceiling at 0.80, chasing perfect Factory New is usually wasted budget. Minimal Wear through Well-Worn often lands the same visual read for less—especially if you care about set matching more than flexing a float number.

How to shop it

1. Inspect in-game first. On the Sawed-Off, check which color blocks sit on the receiver and barrel—listing thumbnails lie about placement sometimes.
2. Read the wear bar, not just the label. Two “FT” listings can look different when the finish is blocky.
3. Compare several listings at the same price on Steam or C5GAME before you commit.

Supply is boring in a good way: Overpass collection drops plus a long chain of Overpass souvenir packages ( Cologne 2014 through Copenhagen 2024 and plenty in between ). Sources are easy to explain if you collect tournament skins.

Shopping verdict

Buy if you want a low-cost Overpass slot that does not scream for attention next to rarer collection mates. Skip if you need holo sparkle or pattern chase—this is set dressing, not a flex skin.

Editor’s aside

Released 1 July 2014 with Breakout and the Overpass collection, designed in-house at Valve. It is old enough to feel “classic map skin” without the souvenir premium of a flashy rifle. I keep one in the loadout purely because it reads Overpass from across the menu—not because anyone inspects my Sawed-Off.
