The weapon | So Whiteout (Tec-9) is a mythical solid-color skin from the 2025 Train Station collection. Valve painted the gun entirely white; the line on the card reads it looks pure, but appearances can be deceiving. There are no busy prints—what you’re really buying is how even the white looks and where wear shows up in inspect.

What you’re looking at in-game

On dark maps the silhouette stays readable, which is why this skin shows up in clean, display-focused loadouts. The flavor text adds a bit of story without cluttering the visuals. Treat it like any premium blank canvas: float and inspect placement matter more than the name on the listing.

Release & drops

It went live 2025-03-31 with the CS2 Spring Forward update and Train Station-themed content. Sources include 2025 Austin Major souvenir packages (Inferno, Mirage, Anubis, Dust II, Ancient, Nuke, Train), 2025 Budapest Major souvenir packages (Inferno, Mirage, Overpass, Dust II, Ancient, Nuke, Train), and the 2025 Train Station collection itself. Supply swings with souvenir hype and collection openings—lock a wear band before you browse, not after you fall in love with a screenshot.

Wear & inspect (shop priority)

Wear range 0.06–1.0. The 0.06 floor means truly clean, near-pure white copies are less common; as float climbs you’ll see grime, graying, and scuffs fast on a solid finish. Two listings at the same float can look different depending on which face catches light in inspect.

Before you buy: spin 3D inspect on Steam Market or C5GAME and compare tiers side by side. Check whether scratches break the white on the slide, grip, and top; note if “clean” sides match the worn ones. For play, many buyers stop before the white turns muddy; for flex, low-float uniformity is the whole point.

Shopping verdict

Worth it if you want a minimalist Tec-9 that reads in dark scenes and you’re willing to pay for float + inspect, not just rarity text. Skip or set a strict cap if you need loud patterns—this skin has none. Practical move: pick your max float first, filter listings, then only compare inspects inside that window so you don’t chase a “deal” that’s dirty on the side you see in first person.

Editor’s aside

Solid whites are a trap for impatient buyers: the listing thumbnail lies. Same wear, different vibe—always reconcile market float with in-game inspect. On C5 or Steam, spend five extra minutes scrolling adjacent floats; that’s usually where the actually clean So Whiteout hides.
