The UMP-45 | Roadblock landed with the Recoil Weapon Case on July 1, 2022 (Valve’s “A New Cassssssse” post). Workshop artist Eschaton kept the read simple: custom orange horizontal lines plus forward-pointing arrows, and the flavor line nudges you toward “take the scenic route” instead of charging straight in. On a SMG that already shows up in eco and rotate rounds, that orange-on-black pop reads clean in third-person and when the gun hits the ground.

What you’re buying

• Pool: Recoil Weapon Case · Collection: Recoil
• Rarity: Rare (blue) · Finish: Gunsmith · Wear: full 0.00–1.00 range
• Look: warning-stripe vibes on the bars; arrows push “keep moving forward”—no busy fake grunge, just blocky graphics Gunsmith does well

Wear & inspect (do this before you pay)

Gunsmith lives or dies on sharp edges. In Inspect, flip through Factory New → Battle-Scarred and watch:

1. Where the lines and arrows sit on each side of the body
2. Whether high float blurs stripe edges or muddies the orange
3. If low float is worth the premium for crisper contrast on your main side

Low wear usually keeps stripes readable; high wear trades clarity for a scruffier base—personal taste, not “wrong.”

Price hunt

Steam Community Market and C5GAME both list Roadblock across floats. Pick your max wear first, then compare listings—chasing the cheapest FN while you’d happily play FT is how buyers overpay.

Buying verdict

Worth it if you want a recognizable Recoil blue on UMP without leaving case-tier budget: strong theme, easy to explain, looks active in-game. Skip or go minimal float if you need mirror-perfect stripes on every angle; Gunsmith at high wear can look tired fast.

Editor’s grumble

Another day, another “don’t face-check B site” skin that still gets hard-rushed anyway. Roadblock at least looks like it’s giving you directions—shame the rank queue never listens. If you’re filling Recoil blues, it’s a sensible pick; just don’t buy FN because a screenshot looked cute without spinning it in Inspect first.
