Magna Carta on the SCAR-20 is a Rare hydrographic tied to the Control collection—not a hype covert, but one of the clearer “rules and paperwork” skins in that set. Valve built it in-house (no Workshop credit): purple blocks, charter-style seals and lettering, meant to feel like a folded page on the receiver rather than street art.

Legal systems cannot make everyone equal, but everyone is equal before the law.

Release & where it lives

It landed 3 December 2020 with Operation Broken Fang and sits under Control. When you filter by collection on C5GAME or the Steam Market, line it up with other Control pieces if you are building a themed loadout or comparing float and price in one pass.

Drop source

• Control collection (drops and unbox routes follow in-game collection rules; no separate “one case only” story in the brief—think collection-first farming and trades).

Hydrographic blending means purple panels, text, and crest motifs flow together instead of looking sticker-cut. Because float caps at 0.60, you get real spread from Factory New to Battle-Scarred: low float keeps edges crisp and purple punchy; high float pushes a scuffed-paper, smeared-stamp vibe that some collectors actually prefer for the lore.

Shop verdict

Worth it if you like readable theme skins, purple accents, or finishing a Control set without paying covert money. Pass if you need a clean, minimalist SCAR-20—this one wants you to spin it in inspect and read the layout.

Before you pay: always inspect in-game (or a full-size preview). Thumbnails lie about purple balance and where the lettering sits on your pattern index. On C5GAME and Steam, sort by wear bucket—FN/MW for display, FT/BS if you want cheaper “archived document” mood.

Budget tip: Rare + collection tag keeps it saner than top-tier sniper paints, but themed Control buyers can still bid up the nicer floats. Set a max float and stick to it.

Expert muttering

Broken Fang dropped a lot of Control identity into the economy; Magna Carta is the skin that quotes equality while looking like a museum scan. It is not a flex cannon, but as a conversation piece on a niche rifle, the purple drama beats another plain solid. Pair it with other Control items when you care about the set; solo, buy for the inspect loop, not for resale fantasy.
