Pick-ban flow changes, a new 3v3 Rush queue, quiet reloads, resolution-independent crosshairs, C4 stickers, and a fresh Music Kit—plus map fixes across Ancient, Jaguar, Cache, Mirage, and Train.
What changed at a glance
Valve reshuffled competitive map selection: Team 1 bans one map, Team 2 bans two, Team 1 bans one more—then one of the four remaining maps is chosen at random and the match starts. If you've been grinding a map in practice, you get more chances to actually play it instead of watching it die in veto every time.
Rush is a fast 3v3 queued mode: fight through random battle arenas, push to the enemy castle, and win rounds by holding the tower after wipes or when time runs out. Every match mixes arenas differently, so routes stay fresh.
Gameplay feel: hold reload for silent (slow) reload; un-scoping snipers is silent; bullet impact decals look clearer globally. ammo_grenade_limit_total now caps grenades you can buy in a round, not just carry limits. Zeus x27 finally hurts chickens (RIP coop meta).
Crosshairs are resolution independent. Settings → new Crosshair/Scopes tab, new styles, default is Dynamic Quad (tracks spread better). Engine bumped to latest Source 2.
Maps: Ancient—Long A Main Hall hole fixes; Jaguar—door geometry and nade clipping; Cache—Mid blue-door gaps/clipping; Mirage—A balcony scaffolding; Train—A site crate pixel gap blocked.
Profile & cosmetics: Clan Tag for Steam Community Group members (Player Profile). Stickers on C4. Starjunk 95, Industrial Sunset Memories Music Kit in STORE (standard + StatTrak). Halftime scoreboard now matches the last round; kick-ban dodge patched; music volume per game mode.
Workshop / server nerds: minimap_volume, sky_camera_volume + target, point_deathcam_bounds, env_shake_volume, CSRadarPoint, CSObservablePoint, AddTeamMoney API, OnPlayerTeamChanged, SetDialogVariableString accepts localization strings.
Shop verdict
| Item | Worth your attention? |
|------|------------------------|
| New map veto + random pick | Yes if you rank—learn the pool, not one comfort ban |
| Rush 3v3 | Yes for warm-ups and aim duels without full 5v5 commitment |
| Crosshair/Scopes tab | Must-check—rebuild once; old configs may feel off on new scaling |
| C4 stickers | Fun buy—flex on plant; check C5GAME listings if you want specific crafts without overpaying |
| Starjunk 95 Music Kit | Taste call—StatTrak if you live in MM; skip if you mute kits anyway |
| Map fixes | Free value—re-smoke Ancient/Jaguar/Cache spots you thought were "broken you" |
Bottom line: This patch is mostly quality-of-life and meta hygiene, not a skin economy earthquake. Spend money on the Music Kit only if you actually hear kits; for C4 crafts, compare Steam market and C5GAME before impulse buying finished bundles.
Editor's notes
The veto change is the sleeper hit: teams that only prep three maps will get punished when the roulette lands on map four. Rush is going to steal deathmatch queue time—good for Zeus and pistol practice too, weirdly.
Silent reload is subtle but huge for AWP and autosniper players who jiggle-scope; pair it with silent un-scope and you've got real stealth repositioning (still slow on reload—don't hero peek mid-animation).
Grenade buy cap tied to ammo_grenade_limit_total means community servers and league configs need a pass; casual players might not notice until they can't full-buy nade stacks.
Dynamic Quad as default will make YouTube crosshair copy-paste outdated overnight—expect a week of "why does my crosshair feel different" posts. Clan tags are free flex; C4 stickers are the real cosmetic headline—inspect your favorite holo on the bomb before the meme wears off.
If you trade skins, none of this moves needle prices much—keep an eye on C5GAME for Music Kit undercuts after launch hype fades.
